Stock and Post's role
Stock and Post is a listing and communications platform connecting independent buyers and sellers. It is not an auction house, livestock dealer or broker, escrow company, transportation company, veterinary provider, animal-health authority, or the seller of any listed animal. Transactions are completed directly between buyer and seller.

Buying Animals
Read the full listing, ask direct questions, and confirm what documentation exists before you travel. Where possible, see the animal in person or arrange an independent inspection by a professional you choose. Agree on terms in writing before money changes hands.
Selling Animals
Describe the animal honestly, including anything a buyer would want to know. Upload the documentation you have, keep it current, and be clear about what you do and do not have. Only list animals you have authority to sell.
Animal Health
Health information on a listing is supplied by the seller unless labeled otherwise. Stock and Post is not a veterinary provider and does not assess the health, soundness or condition of any animal. Work with a licensed veterinarian for anything health-related.
Interstate Movement
Moving animals between states may involve additional requirements such as veterinary inspection, entry permits, identification and testing. Requirements depend on species, age, sex, breeding status, purpose and destination, and they change over time. Confirm current requirements with the origin and destination animal-health authorities.
Documentation
Every document on a listing carries a status so buyers can see what has and has not been reviewed. A document with a recorded date automatically moves to Expired once that date has passed, and sellers are reminded before important dates arrive.
Seller Verification
Stock and Post shows a reviewed or verified label only where an approved verification workflow has actually been completed. Entering information into a form never produces a verified label.
Fraud Prevention
Keep communication and records on the platform. Be cautious with deposits, wire transfers and other irreversible payments, especially for animals you have not seen. Be skeptical of pressure, unusually low prices, and sellers who will not answer specific questions. Report anything suspicious.
Transportation
Stock and Post does not transport animals and does not arrange, endorse or supervise transportation. Buyers and sellers are responsible for arranging safe, lawful transport and for any documentation that travel requires.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does Stock and Post confirm that a listing is compliant?
- No. We surface requirements that may apply based on the information available and let you review the documentation a seller has provided. We do not determine whether a specific animal, seller or movement is compliant.
- What does 'Verified' mean on a document?
- It means an approved Stock and Post or third-party verification workflow has been completed for that specific document. Nothing a seller types into a form can produce that status.
- Does Stock and Post take a commission on the sale price?
- No. Stock and Post does not calculate or collect a commission based on the final sale price, and does not hold funds. Sellers subscribe for listing capabilities.
- Are you an auction house or a livestock dealer?
- No. Stock and Post is a listing and communications platform connecting independent buyers and sellers. There is no bidding on the platform.
- Which states are supported?
- Listing service begins in Montana and expands state by state. Jurisdictions, requirements and resources are configured by administrators, so new states can be added without rebuilding the platform.
